Diabolic Force: Old school attack / Prisoner of wickedness
17/10/07 || Lord K Philipson
Next up from the batch of albums that the nice people at No Colours Records sent us is Diabolic Force. Unfortunately, I might add. This album is a cd consisting of 2 (I assume, anyways) demos, recorded in 2001 and 2002 respectively. Without checking I can tell you that these guys have overdosed on early (and shitty) Venom, Celtic Frost and Sodom, to name but a few. It’s not that I don’t like me some early Venom at times (very rare are those times, though), but if I wanna hear Venom, I listen to Venom, not some band trying to pay tribute to them.
This Brazilian band wouldn’t know what a good production was if it started dating them 7 days a week, fucked them twice a day and made them breakfast in the morning. And I guess that’s exactly how they want shit to be run. I have a problem with shitty productions – they are shitty. I can’t get any joy out of listening to albums/demos that sound like something my left nut would conjure up on a Friday night after a hundred shots of Fernet’s.
I really can’t say that I have a lot to add when it comes to Diabolic Force. It’s shitty music, made for the purpose of being shitty. It’s not even fun to listen to as a tribute. It’s just fucken shitty. Oh, and not to forget – there are some really shitty solos here as well. Stuff you’d pull off the first time you pick up a guitar. Not so awesome. Actually, it’s completely… you got it. Shitty.
2,5/10.
They get an 8 for their stage names and the looks though:
